What is Frontend Development?

Frontend development is referred to as that area of web development that makes sure that the website must focus on the user. It represents that what the user will go to see when he/she will open it. It includes the conversion of the codes produced by the developers into a graphical interface.  It makes sure that the data will be presented in a much easy and understandable format.

But while developing the website there are some important points that are being skipped by many developers. By keeping these points in mind developers can make the website more attractive and easy to understand for the viewers.

Frontend tricks that most Frontend Developers don’t know about

Here are the tricks that most frontend developers don’t know about:

Datalist Element:

That is usually used to provide the user with the option of auto-complete. In which the users see a dropdown menu in which all the related topics/ words have been mentioned to make it a bit easy for the user type data. That is sometimes missing in HTML.

Clickable label with a checkbox:

Clickable labels must be added along with the checkbox in order to accomplish the same task according to your data. It basically helps the user to click on the label instead of the checkbox if he is finding it a bit difficult to press.

Child sector:

In the field of software engineering this is an important point usually skipped by the software engineers or developers in HTML. This is used to match elements which are direct children of other elements that basically make relation between two defined elements. To make a relation between two elements symbol of greater than sign (>) is used. Or we can say that it basically

Writing mode:

That is a less known property of HTML but still is quite powerful in its domain. It allows the text to run vertically on any of the sides of the website. It allows five different options of text writing:

Vertical (Right)

Vertical (Left)

Sideways (Right)

Sideways (Left)

Calc Function:

This function is used to perform a basic mathematical functions like of addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), and division (/) when specifying CSS property. The effective ability of this function is that it allows to works with mixed units like percentage and pixels etc.

Console table:

The console table in HTML is used for writing data in the form of a table in the console view. The tabular data is sent as a variable to the console table method which must be an object or an arrangement containing the data to be filled in the table.

Console time:

This method starts a timer in the console view that allows you to identify the time that an operation takes to complete the tasks. That is the only way to test the working of the operators. At the end of the timer console time end method is used to end the timer and to display the result.

In operator:

In HTML in operator is used to identify whether the index is present in the array or not, or same with the property/ value exist in an object or not. As a result it returns as true or false.

Make chrome a text editor:

One other trick that can be sued here is to convert the chrome in a notepad. For this purpose you simply have to type data:text/html, <html contenteditable> in the URL section of chrome. You must try it on the latest chrome build and it will work really smoothly and effectively. You can also save it as a bookmark in chrome for easy access anytime.

Math round and math floor alternatives:

According to ilmibook by using this trick you can make it simple to work with the mathematical values. The math round method allows you to round off the given value to the nearest greater value like 713.6 to 714. And the math floor method allows you to round down the integer to the nearest value like 713.4 to 713.

All of the above discussed tricks are those in the list which might not be the most in practice but some of these are absolutely not used enough by frontend developers. These can really help them in expanding their frontend skills. In the fields of quality assurance these tips are also beneficial for quality assurance engineers.
