He fumed with frustration in experiencing rejection and worked like a beast to get a much taller height. At the time when he was not selected he was only five feet eleven inches. After gaining four inches height to come at par with the selection level, there was no looking back for Michael, who scored an average of 25 points in the game.

On reaching the senior level, he passed the selection to play for a game in 1981 scoring 30 points.

Not The First But The Third Pick

Instead of the first pick, Michael became the third pick by the Chicago Bulls. He made a seven-year contract, a $6 million deal averaging to $850K every season with the latter basketball team in September 1984.

Before Michael became the Bull in a year, the basketball team sold out only 6 games in total. And so the attendance of the latter basketball champ doubled. When the 5th season ended, Michael and the basketball team agreed to extend the contract of $25 million for eight-year.
