Personal Life

Martina Benoit was born on April 13, 1966, in Canada. She is the first wife of Chris Benoit, the both of them met at a party when Martina was just 25, they got hitched in the year 1988.  The couple have two children, a son and a daughter together. Unfortunately, Martina and Chris parted ways in 1997 as Chris was having an affair. Martina has remained unmarried since then.

Christopher Michael Benoit better known as Chris Benoit is a professional Canadian wrestler who was often seen on WWE and WWF. He was born May 21st, 196 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. His parents are Michael Benoit and Margaret Benoit, the duo have two children Chris and his sister. Chris lived in Edmonton for most of his life. He stood at 5 feet 11 inches and weighed 104 kg.

After his marriage to Martina Benoit, Chris married Nancy Benoit who was a wrestling manager, and was married to a fellow wrestler, Kevin Sullivan. The duo however had a failing marriage and Nancy had filed for divorce and a restraining order which she withdrew a while later.

Chris is believed to have been diagnosed with Depression and  Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy a severe neurological disease that occurs due to repeated trauma to the brain.

Chris Benoit’s Career and Achievements

Chris Benoit was trained by many popular personalities like Bruce Edward Hart, Stu Hart, Tokyo Joe, and Tatsumi Fujinama. He was heavily inspired by Bret Hart and Tom ‘Dynamite Kid’ Billington. Chris began his wrestling career and debuted on November 22nd, 1985 in Stu Hart’s Stampede Wrestling promotion. In the ring, Christopher was either known as Chris Benoit or The Wild Pegasus. Throughout his career, he has earned several nicknames from fans and followers, such as The Canadian Crippler or The Rabid Wolverine.

Many are the accolades to Chris’ name, some of them are that he received championships in WWF/WWE, WCW, NJPW, ECW, and Stampede, a two-time world wrestling champion, and heavyweight champion. He is also highly acclaimed to be one of the top 5 wrestlers of all time in the history of pro wrestling. He is a member of the Stampede Hall of Fame as well as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame.

Chris’ Death

Chris Benoit sadly passed away in the year 2007, his death is a matter of great disturbance. He passed away by suicide, and along with that, he had murdered his then-wife Nancy Benoit, and their 7-year-old son, Daniel Benoit.

Nancy Benoit had died due to asphyxia and her son Daniel was sedated with Xanax and then suffocated through which he died. Both the bodies were found with a copy of the Bible lying next to them.

Chris Benoit died by hanging himself on a noose from the pull-down machine. The bodies were discovered only after Chris Benoit’s sudden disappearance from the world of wrestling sparked suspension of his whereabouts.

Conclusion

Despite her divorce from Chris Benoit, Martina had only nice things to say about her ex-husband, she claimed that he was a very loving human. It is through this we can understand that Martina is a loving woman, mother, and wife.
