When Katya was born, Hunter Tylo went through difficulties to save Katya’s eyes. She was suffering from a rare fatal cancer. Katya began showing symptoms of her illness when she was barely 14-days old. Hunter Tylo said that When Katya was born, she continued crying and displaying some painful signs. Earlier, Tylo and her husband Michael thought that Katya would be a colicky baby and attributed her crying to it. But, when Tylo looked carefully she noticed some milky white underneath the black part of her pupil. Tylo discovered that Katya had retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer. Finally, a surgery was performed and Katya was saved but her right eye could not be saved.
