The early life of Alex Trebek

Alex Trebek was born in Sudbury, Ontario in Canada, on July 22, 1940. His father, known as George Edward, originated from Ukraine and his mother, known as Lucille Legace, comes from franco-Ontarian thus, he was raised in a household where they spoke both French and English.

He joined Sudbury high school and later went to Ottawa University, where he pursued a bachelor’s degree in philosophy up to 1961. Additionally, in the same year, he started his own television work, where he joined Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. At the same time, he acted as the replacement for announcers. Alex Trebek upgraded to read the national news and undertook other roles both in radio and BBC television divisions.

The show was warmly welcomed at its start in 1984. This show was the one that made him famous. Alex Trebek got the new position as the show’s host, but the host art filming cancelled the project due to creative differences. After his revival, the show has received credible progress where it has been able to win a record of number 33 day Emmy awards. When he hosted the show, he managed to set Guinness world record for several game show episodes.

Personal Life of Trebek

Alex Trebek got married to Elaine Callie, a business lady, in 1974, and they later divorced in 1981 with no children.  In 1990 he married a real estate manager known as Currivan, and they were blessed with two children. In 1998, Trebek became a naturalized United States citizen.

In March 2019,  Alex Trebek was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancers. He managed to undergo massive treatment moments.

He was lucky to survive for one year, but unfortunately, the world was shocked to receive death news on November 8, 2020. Alex succumbed to cancer at the age of 80 years.

Later Alex Trebek sold out the field in 2005 for a total of $10 million. Then, in 2016, he went ahead to list his 30-acre lake home found in Nacimiento, California, for a total of $ 1.4 million.
