LeBron Raymone James Sr. was born on December 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio to parents Gloria Marie James and Anthony McClelland. Gloria Marie gave birth to LeBron when she was just sixteen years old while Anthony McClelland was not present in LeBron’s life because of his extensive criminal record.
Gloria raised LeBron on her own with the help of her mother, Freda. Freda died when LeBron was just 3 years old. LeBron’s life growing up was hard because his mother, Gloria, was struggling to find a stable job. They were also moving from apartment to apartment in the neighborhood of Akron. Gloria then made one of the hardest decisions of her life, she allowed her son to live with Frank Walker, a football coach, and his family. Gloria was just 24 years old at that time.
